# Security and privacy

## Two-step sign-in

Turn it on for your own account in Settings → Security with an authenticator app, and keep the backup codes somewhere safe.

## Retention

In Settings → Data, choose how long closed conversations and uploaded files are kept: 30, 90, 180, 365 or 730 days, or until you remove them. The policy is applied every hour.

## Erasure requests

A person, a visitor, a conversation or the whole workspace can be erased on request. Requests wait 24 hours before they run, so a mistake can be cancelled from Settings → Data.
